Rear Tailgate Clearance (Will it hit the awning?) Whether your tailgate will clear the awning depends on your roof rack height and how high your tailgate opens. As a rule, you’re good to install if:
A=Roof rack height above the vehicle
B=Tailgate open height
B < A + 2.5 cm

Freestanding awnings should always be secured using the supplied guy ropes and support poles during windy conditions.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
Heavy rain, strong wind and storms can place excessive stress on awning arms and mounting systems. Pack away during extreme weather conditions.
OPENROAD TIP
For maximum lifespan, always allow the awning to dry completely before long-term storage.
WATCH THE FULL WALKTHROUGH
When you roll the awning back, push each hinged arm toward the housing so the fabric and zipper stay aligned — this prevents the canvas from bunching and makes the zipper easy to close. Tip: do one arm at a time and don’t force the zipper; realign and try again.
